    Members of Austin's District 7 community and the public are invited to attend an in-person public meeting to hear from the ICRC and the work being done on the new City Council district maps. The public will have an opportunity to provide public comment and feedback on the communities current district map.

    When: Saturday, July 24, 11 a.m.-1p.m.

    Where: Northwest Recreation Center 2913 Northland Dr.

    If you would like to leave written feedback and upload an annotated map of your own, please visit this link, then click on the "Event Feedback" tab. It will prompt you to register for the site. After you register, you can take the survey and upload any documents you would like the commission to consider.

    The 14 selected commissioners will gather public input and adopt a final plan for the district boundaries. March 2021 through November 2021. New districts in effect for the November 2022 election.

    Saturday, January 23, at 10 a.m. The City Auditor will randomly select eight people to serve on the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. These eight commissioners will be randomly selected from the list of commission finalists who were selected by the Applicant Review Panel. The random selection will be broadcast and live streamed. Here are the ways you can access the live broadcast:

    The eight selected commissioners will choose six more people from the list of finalists to serve on the Commission. The ICRC is responsible for drawing the boundaries of Austin's council districts.

    On October 1, 2020, the Office of the City Auditor randomly selected three people to serve on the Applicant Review Panel. The following names were randomly selected:

    1. James Christianson
    2. Abigael McClean
    3. William Cooper

    The Applicant Review Panel will help select the members of the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission.
