Land Development Code Amendments
Consultation has concluded

The Land Development Code (LDC) determines how land can be used throughout the city, including what can be built, where it can be built, and how much can (or cannot) be built. Over time amendments are made to the LDC in response to the policy goals; the current code has been amended hundreds of times since its initial adoption in the mid 1980s.
Only the Planning Commission and City Council may initiate amendments to the LDC. The topic of a code amendment can include any content that the LDC comprises: zoning, subdivision, site plans, environment, water, and more. The focus may be geographically limited to a corridor, an activity center, or on a more extensive area, but most code amendments have applicability to the entire city of Austin.
