Remembrance and Identity
Part of preserving Community Identity requires a keen understanding of important history, key socioeconomic impacts, and a respect for the legacy of original residents. As communities change, the respectful recognition of existing culture and the exchange of ideas between current and new residents promotes the success of newly diverse communities. Cultural Centers and Museums that focus exhibits and programming on specific communities and ethnicities are a proven way to advance the principles of Remembrance Design and Community Identity.
