The proposed changes update text in the Environmental Criteria Manual (ECM). The amendments pertain to tree protection requirements and tree impacts. The modifications are as follows:

• Appendix P-2 Notes and Tree Protection
  • Clean language and incorporate into the main body of the Environmental Criteria Manual (ECM).
• Appendix V 
  • Remove outdated tree material.

The change to these Rules is part of a larger process by Development Services Department to update Rule language. The updated text will ensure guidance on processes is clear, concise, and up to date.

The proposed changes will make the Environmental Criteria Manual (ECM) easier to read, understand, and use. They do not include substantive changes to existing practices. The proposed amendments will improve the ability of the Development Services Department to provide timely reviews and inspections and will further the City's ability to protect the urban forest.
